Hey, so my city is burning again! Took out 12 homes! I totally had to pack my emergiencia suitcase!
Okay, this week was awesome!! First I'll tell you about this couple that we teach every now and then cause they are hard to find, but he is an inactive member and she is not. So they have heard all the lessons and just everything. So we found out that the only thing they need is to be married, then she can be baptized. And so while we were teaching them the thought came into my mind to invite them to get married. haha So I was like uhh,,, should I do it? But then I just went for it! I didn't know how they would react and I had a little fear!! haha But they totally said "yes" and agreed to a date! tight right? I'm inviting people to be married now!
So yesterday we were at a familia's house. We normally go in and talk and share a scripture and then leave, but I got out my scriptures and I looked at um.. and thought... nope, I shouldn't share a scripture. Instead, I was just like.. what am I suppose to do in this house? Then all of a sudden a question came into my mind for the daughter... I asked her if she believed that God loves her. And she totally told us she didn't know if she believed in God!! We had no idea she had any problems at all. Apparently she had be having all sorts of problems and it all came down to this. So we taught her and her specific needs, so my Chilean companion who speaks the language went quiet and I just talked with the daughter for half an hour! I was proud of my Spanish!! so yeah, God knows You, personalmente, every single thing about you, he knows what you need.
Hey, so I found a scripture that I like alot, Mosiah 2:41..."And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it."... when you read this scripture think to yourself, "how are the lives of the people who keep the commandments?" and "why wait to have this life?"
yeah so with another familia, a family of 5, we taught them this week at night, and there were so many fires in Viña that they shut the power off in most of Chile. So we had a tiny lamp and we were teaching um, it was like a camp fire! So we brought our friend Carlitos to help teach with us, and we had the whole family, my comp and Carlitos... so my companion was just like "okay my companion Elder Goodell is going to teach today", haha so Boom! I was bearing my testimony of the Book of Mormon and committing every one to read it and the dad had a bunch of questions and I answered um all with the Bible and the Book of Mormon! legit.
yeah so I love letters!!
