Sacred, Spiritual Event & Snickerdoodles

Well, I totally made snickerdoodles! una hermana in my ward totally hooked me up with an American cookbook! But they came out all Chilean like, (I don't have measuring utensils) haha
HAPPY FATHERS DAY!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASON! and congrats on becoming a PRESBITERO!

So this week this guy pulls us out of church early to go to the hospital to give a blessing to this kid from a different city.  This experience was sacred and very scary! First, we walk in and there is just huge statues of the virgin Mary.  Crosses and all sorts of apostasy things, too.  So I didn't feel good.  Little do I know, all of a sudden we go to the fourth floor and it's the intensive care unit. Now imagine being in a ghetto intensive care unit and it was so intense that they could only let 2 people in at a time.  So we walk in, my companion and I, and we just look around.  I'm pretty sure everyone there that day was just about to die.  We walk into this big open area to this kids bed.  He was strapped to so many machines and all this noise from all the other people and their stuff.  I can't even begin to tell ya what was wrong with the kid but he couldn't talk or even open his eyes.  So we awkwardly just reach over all this equipment and we put our hands on his head and give him a blessing.  Now, I can't even explain what I felt, but I was so overwhelmed that I just started crying!  It was crazy!  But this kid had been in the hospital since birth and he was 19 years old! We felt the Spirit so strong-this kid had the Spirit- he hadn't ever been exposed to bad things before. His mom was telling us all these spiritual experiences she's had with him.    It totally marked my mission.

So the news! Change time! I'm totally staying.... with my comp! He's got 4 changes here.  It's pretty crazy.
So we said 'bye to the mission president and his wife. That was really hard. They were like my parents here in Chile.  The new president is coming on the 30th. I'm pretty stoked tho!
So it rained all week.  I have a huge coat now and a nice umbrella-so I'm good, but dang... our ward is a big one and normally we have 150 people come.  Last week we had 45 people come.  No investigators, it was lame.  So the kid we were goin' to baptize got extended to the 30th, so we'll see. We just had a Family Night last night-we invited a bunch of people over to our converts house and we all just sat on the floor because she just has like 3 chairs no más.
Alright, I need your help. I need to know if this is a false Chilean idea...
"your kids will get sick if you have wet clothes drying in the house?" haha
So yeah, thanks for the prayers and the packages! They were sweeeeeet!!!!!!! I have so much candy now!  I didn't know they pre-made muddy buddys??
