I got sick this week from being with other elders! I blew my nose so hard my ears popped and i had headaches all day. haha We went over to this family's house and I'm pretty sure i got this kid sick. We ended up having to give him a blessing for being sick, but no one gave me one...
So here's a story, me and my comp were walking around in a dangerous area and we came across some flaite. I looked at one in the eyes and I knew he wanted to start trouble, but I'm such a pro at getting out of hairy situations with people. I was lucky I had candy! So when they all came up and surrounded me and started swearing at me and saying awful things, I asked a kid if he wanted candy and I gave him a ton! and he tried to stick it all in his mouth and I was like.. "hey! share it!" so all the other kids forgot about me and ran after him. SO i was like "comp! VAMOS!" so we took off running and they threw rocks at us, haha, and my comp totally fell and slipped, it was sketchy!!

This week we had some pretty sweet lessons! We're going to baptize this little kid names Gustavo! He's 9 and he's so funny... he reminds me of my little brother Jason when he was 9 years old. So my companions strategy is that he looks for people that are Argentinos and so we go look for um! So he can talk to um with his accent! haha it worked yesterday... we found a whole family! I didn't understand much haha!

So this week we found the biggest staircase! It had 430 stairs! haha we ran down um!! I took a picture but it was dark so you can't see that good..
Here in Chile everyone has a Virgin Mary in their front yard and have huge signs on their houses that say stuff about Jesus. Some people get megaphones and scream in the street! The other day a guy dressed up as Noah! and just read scriptures. haha it's so nuts!!...it makes it hard to talk to people because they're just so sick of all the bull crap in the street that they just don't want anything to do with religion!
Okay, so this week we were just walking along and this little old lady walks up to us and just asks, "Do you guys pray for people who are sick?" and I was just like "yeah!" So she takes us into her house and there's this little tiny super grandma that had dementia and we all just got down on our knees and prayed! It was so cool! All in one second we were in a house praying on our knees with people we didn't know. I feel like the apostle Paul sometimes. SO after we taught them how to pray, it went good.
so it would be good to hear from you guys...
I love dear elders!
Elder Goodell
